Cheap Umbrella Strollers
Umbrella Strollers have been the unsung hero of baby gear for many years. Their lightweight frame and compactability make them a family staple for travel or daily tasks/errands. When shopping for an umbrella stroller, you should consider which features are the most important to you. How heavy is the stroller? How easy is it to push or maneuver? Will you be using this stroller every day, or for occasional purposes only? Is it easy to fold, store, and transport? Will your child be comfortable riding in it? Will you be comfortable pushing it? Does it have a place to store some necessities like your phone, keys, and some extra diapers for baby? Does it have any extra perks such as a sun canopy, peekaboo window, cup holder, etc.? What safety features are in place? And of course, how much does it cost?
Some umbrella strollers on the market today are super fabulous with a lot of bells and whistles. With that being said, you will usually have to pay more for those top-of-the-line attributes. For many families, splurging on an umbrella stroller isn’t an option or a desire (aren’t we all doing our best to save up for Junior’s college tuition?). On another note, some families already have a superb standard stroller (trying saying THAT three times fast), and are just looking for something lighter and more portable, while others are looking to make traveling with their child(ren) more enjoyable. Whatever your reason for needing a less costly stroller, I’ve compiled a list of the Best Cheap Umbrella Strollers to help in your quest for an umbrella stroller that gets the job done without breaking the bank.

Best Cheap Umbrella Strollers 2018
#1 Stroller Choice
The Kolcraft description states “The Kolcraft Cloud Umbrella Stroller gives parents standard stroller features in the form of a travel-friendly umbrella stroller.” And they weren’t lying!
This umbrella stroller has shock-absorbing wheels, making for an easy ride, and a 3-point safety harness to keep baby safe. Parents will appreciate the cup holder and padded handlebars for comfort, and the 9.5 pound weight of the stroller makes it super easy to take anywhere! The extended sun canopy, hood, and storage basket will make you feel extravagant, even though you know deep down you made a sensible purchase. Plus, it can hold a child up to 40 pounds, unlike other cheap umbrella strollers that top out around 30 pounds. It folds super easily, too, so for such a low price you could buy an extra one to throw in grandparents’ or a babysitter’s car, without having to worry about them experiencing a hard time fiddling with a clunky contraption. At around $30-$45, the Kolcraft Cloud is a great choice for an economical, yet fully-functional umbrella stroller purchase.
But don’t just take my word for it, one Amazon reviewer said: Big kid, great buy. I’m in love. I didn’t want a normal stroller. I needed one that would be just as comfortable and still have some of the extras I wanted, cup holder and basket. The vented back is great. My daughter is 3’1″ and 37lbs. I was worried about her not fitting under the canopy but her head doesn’t touch at all. She loves it also. It still folds down small like a normal umbrella stroller does also. Very light. The handles turn in and I love that feature for my comfort. Easy to push. Wheels lock also. -By Vert on May 15, 2016
#2 Stroller Choice
The Baby Trend Rocket weighs in at 12.5 pounds and can hold a child up to 50 pounds, which is pretty high as far as umbrella strollers go. Caregivers might be surprised to see a reclining seat and two cup holders with storage pockets offered in this cheap umbrella stroller ($40-$50), but it’s true! The handles are comfortable, as well, proving that a stroller is made with parents in mind, as well as children. Safety features included in the Baby Trend Rocket include a 5-point harness, dual foot brake, and large shade canopy. It folds nice and compactly, making it a shoe-in for your next purchase!
But don’t just take my word for it, one Amazon reviewer said: Works great for airport travel!I bought this stroller to use at the airport and for vacation traveling. It worked great for my 10 month old. My husband was a little hesitant about me buying it, making the point that we already have a running stroller and a larger (and much heavier) leisure stroller, but I convinced him it was going to be a smart buy for our vacation and it was. The stroller is light weight and easy to fold up. It has a good amount of storage in the bottom basket and the top drink holder/zipper compartment was excellent for storing sunglasses, sunscreen, water bottles, etc. Overall I am very happy with this purchase and would recommend this stroller to others. -By Amazon Customer on July 20, 2017
#3 Stroller Choice
The Scout from J is for Jeep is a great stroller if you’re going to be using it more often than a once-a-year family vacation. It is lightweight, but that doesn’t mean unsturdy. There is a ton of storage and an extendable sun canopy. Reclining seat and rotating handlebars ensure that both baby and his or her parents are comfortable. I like that there are reflecting materials all over this thing – – on the 5-point safety harness and along the piping, to ensure that nighttime strolls can be enjoyed without worry. It is a bit heavier than other umbrella strollers at 16 pounds, but if you’re using it on the reg you’ll appreciate the stability of it. Your child can ride in this one happily until he or she reaches 45 pounds. The umbrella design allows the Scout to fold quickly and compactly with a latch that auto-locks. Costing $50-$60, It may be a bit more costly than others on this list, but if you’re looking for a great umbrella stroller to use frequently, this one’s your guy.
But don’t just take my word for it, one Amazon reviewer said: The first thing you notice about this stroller is its sleek design, with stylish minimalist colors. When you put it through its paces, you find that it is not only well-designed but well made. (…) There is so much to like in this lightweight yet sturdy stroller; we are very happy with it. -By SoozeSays on March 6, 2018
#4 Stroller Choice
Look how stinking cute Evezo Sander is! This little guy weighs only 11 pounds but its $50 price tag comes packed with some goodies, such as a (padded) 5-point safety harness, and a storage compartment with cup holder. I love that there is an adjustable (and removable!) canopy so you can decide for yourself if you want to use it or lose it. Also, this stroller doesn’t have just four wheels – – it rolls around on eight, making for an even smoother ride. Some folks may choose to look elsewhere because the seat doesn’t recline, but if you’re using it for quick trips, that may not be a deal breaker for you (or your tired toddler). The Evezo Sander Ultra Lightweight folds up nice and compactly for easy travel and storage, just as you would expect of an umbrella stroller. You’ll appreciate the ease of this stroller, while your little one will appreciate its comfort.
But don’t just take my word for it, one Amazon reviewer said: Love it. Daughter loves it, she doesn’t want to get out of it and we haven’t even used it outside yet. -By Teodre Kenton on March 14, 2018

It can hold up to 40 pounds of youngster, and weighs only 8.7 pounds itself. The handles are padded, there’s an adjustable sun canopy and 3-point safety harness, and it folds up compactly for easy storage or to transport back and forth. Sometimes you just need something to do the job and not to stress about all of the features that are available on the market – – if that’s you, give yourself a break and choose the Cosco Umbrella Stroller with Canopy.
But don’t just take my word for it, one Amazon reviewer said: Does exactly what we need it to do – a light-weight stroller for the grandkids when they come to visit. -By Kent T. on August 17, 2016
